Sex Worker Friends Vs. NON-Sex Worker Friends

Last night I got what some might call a “Moment of Clarity” when I was speaking to my childhood friend over the phone.

She spent the entire time on the phone yelling and screaming at her kids, complaining about her husband, complaining about cooking and cleaning, excited about sales at Wal Mart and Target and just basically boring the HOLY FUCK out of me.

Then my other best friend who is also an escort called, and I immediately got off the phone with my other friend to talk to her.

Last night is when I realized that I NO LONGER want friends who are not sex workers because our worlds are just so different. We don’t speak the same language and I constantly have to filter every word I say.

But with Sex Workers, I can be myself and relax!

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a mother with Soccer practice, PTA meetings, and violin lessons just like any other busy mother, but my life has so many other interesting and tasty layers like a blooming onion.

Someone once told me that once you do something so long it consumes you. I used to say that I was an LPN that escorted on the side, but now it’s the other way around.

I'm an escort who is an LPN on the side…

Hmmm, sounds good to me!

  1. I definitely feel ya. I'm not a sex worker, but my lifestyle is a LOT different than the friends I grew up with (and even friends that I made just 5-6 years ago). I find that I just don't have anything in common with them anymore, and it's harder and harder relating to them, and harder still for me to care enough to keep trying.
