Moon Beans Cafe and Coffee House

Every now and then I like to step away from sex and escorting to talk about good local restaurants. Because eating and socializing is a HUGE pastime of mine, I like to venture out and experience new dining spots.

Well Saturday afternoon, after a long morning of Goodwill shopping (YES I shop at the Goodwill for linens, towels, decorations, and dishes for my in-call space) I discovered the cutest little Café and coffee house in Old Town Florissant.

This Café is in the most darling little 100 year old house in the Historical Old town Florissant area. I loved everything about this café, from the old hardwood floors and original moldings that probably date back to the early 1900’s. I loved the way the place had an “old house smell”, and anyone who lives in a home that’s 100 years old, with the original woodwork knows the smell.

I will admit that the food was questionable, and I noticed that they recently went through a menu change to spice things up a bit. What they need to do is get someone in there with some culinary experience to make the food more appetizing. Every single coffee house/cafe that I’ve ever been to had good coffee and even better food, and this place should be no exception.

So in the end I’ll give it an A for effort, because the space and ambiance fascinated me because I have an obsession with all things OLD…..even old men! LOL

  1. Girl, you don't have to explain yourself about shopping at Goodwill! If you look hard enough you can find some interesting things there. A lot of people (including me) who are into the vintage look like to go and search for cool T-shirts, like the ones with old company logos on them, etc. The secret is to mix and match. You can pair the shirts with some laid-back fly jeans from the mall or even TJ Maxx, plus some shoes in the same category and you have a complete outfit. At least 6 out of 10 college kids do it all the time.
