The Art of being a Sensual Masseuse.

Someone told me a few weeks ago that FBSM is a dying art and I agree, it is.

I admit, I didn't know much when I started in this line of work, but who does? We learn as we go, some from other ladies, some from clients - but most of our knowledge is gathered on our own.

I started working as a massage practitioner because I was poor and broke. I needed to pay bill and feed mouths. So in 2003 I logged onto Craigslist and my life as massage practitioner began.

I have come a long way from where I once was to where I am now. That is reflected in my rates, my website, my appearance (all the weight-loss) and my sessions.

At first, I was more into this for the money aspect, get the money, make a savings, etc. etc.

But as time passed, it became about the sessions and the people. At one point I loathed this job (as all women do at some point) and realized that I needed to quit or find a happy ground.

Well - the ground was found. I reinvented myself over the course of year, did away with review (hallelujah!), made a professional site and did paid advertising. But that was just my marketing.

Mentally, I decided I did enjoy what I did, in fact, I LOVED it, where else could I have this freedom and flexibility.

So in my down time, I studied more techniques, refining what I had learned for traditional massage. I mixed the Swedish kneading with tantric strokes to make something purely enjoyable not only for my clients, but for to perform.

In the past couple years, some of the FBSM greats have retired, a know a few that are on the way out the door. I ask why, and they say - it is time. This business isn't what it used to be.

And I agree.

On the female side - you have some random chicks that offer's massage. Their idea of a FBSM massage is 10 minutes of running their fingers over your back, turning a client over and "POP goes the Weasel", on to the next one. Or women that rush a session and instead of the set time, it is half that.

Ladies - If you are going to do this, do it right. You make it harder for women who do practice and offer unbelievable services to work. Your massage area should be an actual massage table, your should provide clean linens and sheets, have a shower available and make sure you always get ride of the evidence. Visit an online site and order real massage supplies. Not $2.00 lotion and paper towels in a dirty apartment.

On the male side - Men need to be more respectful, not all massage practitioners are escorts. Read the site, we didn't make websites just to go "Ohhh, I am so pretty", they provide useful and relevant information you need. Respect the rules set forth and don't make us fight for information.

Most women you visit for massage are working incall in their homes, they poses a very big risk of exposure and harm if we get an obsessive person. We screen to know who is coming into our space.

Also, instead of trying to force something not offered, follow your practitioner's pace and see how your get as she gets to know you. I personally give more attention and time to my regular returnees than a person who thinks he can turn his hour massage into a 1/2 hour quickie (which I don't do).

Remember:

There is an Art to FBSM. You need to find the right touch, pressure and technique for the person on your table, no client is the same.

The movements are more sensual and satisfying if performed slowly and provocatively.

To me, a FBSM session can be more gratifying than anything else with someone who respects my rules and follows etiquette.

Off my soapbox I go....
